There are past records of output with the following applications software and versions:
  • Adobe Illustrator 8, 9, 10, CS, CS2, CS3, CS4 (for Windows and Mac)
  • Adobe Photoshop 5, 6, 7, CS, CS2, CS3, CS4 (for Windows and Mac)
* However it may not be able to output properly depending on the data formation and conditions.
In case of PS printer driver, the following formats have been confirmed:
  • Adobe Illustrator: AI, EPS
  • Adobe Photoshop: PSD, EPS, TIFF, JPEG, BMP
In case of loading from [OPEN] menu, drag and drop and Hot folder, the following formats are supported:
EPS, PS, TIFF (*1), BMP, PDF (*2) * AI and PSD cannot be used. (*1) TIFF alpha channel (which is the data saving permeation rate on each points) is not supported. (*2) PDF is needs to be saved in Ver.1.4.
PDF's that are saved in Illustrator are not supported.

Both color modes, RGB and CMYK, can be used. However, for characteristics of the printer which are using CMYK ink, high color saturation parts of the image are output with duller colors than the color displayed on the monitor.
Therefore Mimaki recommends using CMYK color mode.

Photoshop EPS, PSD, TIFF and JPEG which are generally used for image arrangement in Illustrator can be used.
Mimaki recommends the following setting in RasterLinkPro5:
  • Resolution: approx. 300 dpi
  • Color mode: CMYK

* Do not compress the image. * When using JPEG, please save it as low-compression (high quality). * Do not scale in Illustrator, as much as possible, because resolution is changed.

It is possible to reinstall RasterLinkPro5 by yourself.
Before reinstallation, the following items are needed:

  • RasterLinkPro5 installation CD (The label "RasterLinkPro5 xx Ver.X.XX" is attached on the CD case)

  • Installation Guide

  • Manual CD

How to reinstall RasterLink Pro

  1. Uninstall RasterLinkPro5. * If using RasterLinkPro5 after reinstallation, it is necessary to deauthorize the licence-authenticated computer. * When uninstalling RasterLinkPro, all the jobs are deleted. If you want to restore the jobs, please backup the data before uninstallation. For procedures about backup, please see "Backup and restore jobs" of "RasterLinkPro5 Reference Guide Common features for every printer" (Document No. D202027).

    About uninstallation, please see "Uninstall RasterLinkPro5" in "RasterLinkPro5 Installation Guide" (Document No.D202025).

  2. Put the RasterLinkPro5 installation CD into the computer to start installation. * Even if using RasterLinkPro5 again after reinstallation, licence authentication is needed. For detailed procedures about installation, please see "RasterLinkPro5 Installation Guide" (Document No.D202025).

  3. After installation, Printer setting is needed. For details, please see "Adding printer" of "RasterLinkPro5 Reference Guide Common features for every printer" (Document No. D202027).
