factories, regional branches and subsidiary companies
throughout Japan.
ISO
14001 is a globally recognised standard for an environmental
management system. It specifies requirements for establishing
an environmental policy, determining environmental
aspects and impacts of products, activities and services,
planning environmental objectives and measurable targets,
implementation and operation of programmes to meet
objectives and targets, checking and corrective action,
and management review.
"With
the ISO 14001 Certificate, Mimaki aims to be a company
devoted to the environment and sustainability. We
are continuously improving our environmental assurance
and performance in all business activities to have
the least impact on our environment and burden for
future generations." said Akira Ikeda, president
of Mimaki Engineering.
In
addition to Mimaki's corporate efforts, their exclusive
UK and Ireland distributors, Hybrid Services Ltd
have already made considerable strides in this area
too. Hybrid's focus on effective waste management
programmes and responsible ink and machine recycling
with the Let's Do MORE!
scheme and WEEE directive compliance has already
had a significant impact within the digital printing
industry; further details of which can be found at
